DAY FIVE
Foot and ankle still swollen, decision made will only go up the Dempster Highway about 250 mile today and if the foot and ankle are the same will turn around and return, no cell service out there and the nearest medical help is about 400Km away if the foot and ankle becomes infected, right now swelling probably just due to allergic reaction , Hopefully.
There is lots of work being done on the road and there are some stoppage but the road is good . The ferry crossings have been open for five days.
When you are driving up the Klondike Range is on the left and the Snowy Range on the left. then the Tombstone and then the Ogilvie Mountains.
Stopped at the Interpretive Center at Tombstone ( completely green, powered by solar Power with generator backup.
Shortly after leaving there saw a big Grizzly Bear but it would not look up was too it was too interested in something that was in the bushes. So have a great shot of a grizzly bear butt.
Further up go through the Blackstone Plateau and the Taiga Ranges. Here the water run red in the river due to the iron oxide in the rock. Interesting but did not take a photo.
Here at about mile 250 have turned around - foot and ankle still swollen. Guess will have to make t to Inuvik another time. Returned to Dawson City - Has taken 10 hours, mostly due to stops but foot is not easy to walk on.
